Manorfield 50th Anniversary
In 2019 we have celebrated the school being here on this site for 50 years.
To celebrate this important event in the school’s history, we held a huge celebration picnic and invited the whole school along with their families and past teaching staff and pupils to attend. As a school we had a think about what we could do to commemorate such an important birthday.
We also decided to bury a time capsule, that contains items showing what it is like to be a student here at Manorfield in 2019. It contains uniform, pens and pencils, photos and letters from the school council members to the future pupils of Manorfield. A sign will be going up once the time capsule is buried instructing the future pupils and teachers to open it in 50 years’ time; when the school will then be turning 100.
There has been a special 50th Anniversary commemorative book produced and we would like to share with you some of the quotes written from visitors to our Celebration Picnic:
I remember coming to Manorfield in the late 1980's. It was a lovely school and now my child comes here. It was lovely to see my old teachers at the anniversary. Alison W.
